There are plenty of college football teams on the recruiting trail raking in a lot of early verbal commitments. That said, there are very few that have already pulled in a bunch of four-star players. After all, four- and five-star prospects are often so sought after that they tend to take their time.

Nevertheless, Alabama already has three commits who are four-star players. Let’s meet them.

D.J. Fluker, a 6-foot-7, 325-pound defensive tackle from Foley, Ala., runs the 40 in 4.9 seconds, bench presses 375 pounds, and squats 525 pounds.

In other words, he’s big, strong, and athletic.

Even better, he’s been productive in high school, which his 78 tackles and seven sacks last season would seem to attest to.

A.J. McCarron, a 6-4, 189-pound pro-style quarterback from Mobile has 4.8 speed, and he threw for 4,400-plus yards, 51 touchdowns and only seven interceptions during his past two seasons in high school.

Finally, Trent Richardson -- a 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back from Pensacola, Fla. -- has 4.5 speed; moreover, he rushed for 1,490 yards and 15 touchdowns in only seven high school games last season, which has Rivals thinking he’s the third-best back in the entire 2009 class.
