In this day and age of college football, in-state recruiting is not necessarily the be-all, end-all. Still, it does hold some relevance.

When it comes to the Auburn Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide, in-state recruiting contests generally go to the latter, while the former tends to net some strong out-of-state commits to go along with those they pick up from the state of Alabama.

Thus, if Auburn keeps the in-state recruiting close, it may signify a better recruiting class than a the one Alabama lands. But it’s all conjecture right now.

In keeping with RealFootball365.com’s push to identify potential in-state recruiting targets whom both clubs are vying for, it’s time that we started in on Alabama’s second 10, if you will.

But here’s the interesting part. Right now there is only one available prospect ranked between 11 and 15 in the state. Consider it all below.

11. Terrence Coleman (committed to Auburn): A 6-foot-1, 244-pound defensive tackle, Coleman is small for the position. That said, he’s athletic and managed a ridiculous 116 tackles and nine sacks last season.

12. Quinton Dial (committed to Alabama): Dial certainly has the size for a D-tackle, tipping the scales at 308 pounds by way of a 6-4 frame. Last season, he totaled 61 tackles and five sacks.

13. Anthony Orr (the one up for grabs): The 6-4, 260-pound strongside defensive end runs the 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds and bench presses 290 pounds. Scouts are excited about Orr's potential, and he's considering both the Tigers and Tide.

14. Brandon Heavens (committed to Auburn): Heavens, a 5-10, 165-pound athlete who accrued over 2,000 all-purpose yards as a junior in high school, has 4.43 speed that makes him perfect for Auburn’s new spread offense.

15. Harris Gaston (committed to Auburn): The 6-2, 210-pound Gaston, an outside linebacker, racked up 112 tackles, 11 sacks and five interceptions last season in high school.
