The Crimson Tide managed to net 14 of the top 20 prospects from the state of Alabama in 2008. The Auburn Tigers, on the other hand, only convinced two of those same prospects to come to their school.

It’s a good thing that Auburn recruits well out of state.

Today, in keeping with RealFootball365.com’s push to identify potential in-state recruiting targets whom both clubs are vying for, it’s time to move to the end of the top 20.

16. Orwin Smith (undecided): The 6-foot, 190-pound running back managed 1,278 yards and 12 touchdowns in high school last season. His stats and 36-inch vertical leap have both Auburn and Alabama interested in Smith, who is strongly considering both programs.

17. D.T. Shackleford (undecided): Shackleford, a 6-1, 220-pound inside linebacker who benches 310 pounds, put up 112 tackles and seven sacks last season; both the Tide and Tigers are looking at him closely.

18. Gerald West (undecided): This 5-11, 160-pound cornerback accrued 36 tackles and three interceptions last season. Simply put, West’s coverage skills have Auburn and Alabama knocking at his door. Of course, 4.4 speed doesn't hurt.

19. Jonathan Evans (committed to Auburn): The 6-0, 205-pound Evans, an outside linebacker with 4.5 speed, a 285-pound bench press and a 505-pound squat, recorded 104 tackles, five sacks, 10 forced fumbles and two interceptions last season in high school.

20. Zac Stacy (undecided): Yes, Stacy's small, standing 5-9 and weighing 175 pounds; however, evidenced by his 4.5 speed, he's also quick.

And, as is usually the case, both the Tigers and Tide are on his list of possibilities.
