Get ready for the Iron Bowl: Both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers have two weeks to prepare for what is arguably the biggest rivalry game in college football. The Tigers currently stand at a measly 5-6, while their crosstown rival will come into the game with an undefeated record and No. 1 national ranking.

Imagine the fallout in Tuscaloosa if Auburn were to win its seventh straight Iron Bowl. By the same token, imagine how much the pressure on beleaguered head coach Tommy Tuberville will increase if the Tigers don’t.

Don’t forget Florida State: Coming off of a 56-6 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Florida Gators look unbeatable. Still, two weeks from now they’ll be taking on Bobby Bowden’s Seminoles -- who have shown glimpses this year. Thanks to that and the fact it's a rivalry game, an upset is not out of the realm of possibility.

Nah. More like a 30-point win instead of a 50-pointer.

The Vanderbilt Commodores are bowl-eligible: After defeating the Kentucky Wildcats 31-24 on Saturday, the Commodores became bowl-eligible. That’s a sentence which just doesn’t run off the tongue very easily, does it?

Auburn scored 13 points last weekend: But at least it was against Georgia!

Ole Miss is also bowl-eligible: It’s been said before in varied ways. Still, isn’t it amazing that a coach so poor he was run off by the Razorbacks managed to get Ole Miss back to bowl eligibility in only one season? See? Houston Nutt's not so bad.
