Alabama’s Saban takes another PR hit

If Bobby Boucher was a real person, he would say that "Nick Saban is the devil, Mama!"

That's because the fictional Cajun football player, played by Adam Sandler in the acclaimed film "The Waterboy" would be none too happy about the ethnic slur that Saban, the Alabama football coach, used in a recent taped conversation.

The word in question, "coonass," which refers to Cajuns (people of Acadian descent) is considered to be a highly derogatory term by the president of the Council for Development of French in Louisiana. But Saban contends that his comment is being taken out of context.

The comments were made to a group of Tuscaloosa reporters, off the record, during an anecdote about an LSU fan's angry reaction to Saban's hiring in Alabama.
