After rejecting offers from Texas and Oklahoma to play as a receiver, Royse City (Texas) High School quarterback Richard Morrison gave his verbal commitment to Arizona. The 6-foot, 170-pound dual-threat signal-caller amassed 3,350 passing yards and 33 touchdowns and an additional 350 yards and 11 scores on the grou.

"I'm a dangerous quarterback. I can run and I have a cannon arm...I' m a good quarterback, and I'm not 6-4," Morrison said. "I'm motivated to come to Arizona and prove I can play quarterback.”

In addition to the Longhorns and Sooners, Morrison chose the Wildcats over Utah, Baylor, UNLV, Iowa State, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech.

COMMENTARY: The young Texan appears to be bent on proving he’s a threat at quarterback, which is interesting when you consider Arizona is loaded at running back and runs a spread offense. It’s not out of the question that Morrison will get playing time upon arriving in Tucson.
