An interesting blend of opponents awaits the Army football team next fall.

The 12-game slate features a heavy southwest flavoring as three of Army's first four opponents, and six of its first nine foes, hail from the states of Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

The challenging grouping of opponents includes two conference champions from this past season, along with a squad that closed the regular season ranked in the Top 10 nationally. It includes two opponents from the Big 12 Conference (Texas A&M and Baylor), three from the Mountain West (2005 champion TCU, Rice and Air Force), one from the Big East (Connecticut), one from the Sun Belt (2005 champion Arkansas State), one from the Mid-American (Kent State), one from Conference USA (Tulane), two Independents (nationally ranked Notre Dame and Navy) and one foe from the Division I-AA ranks (VMI).
