We’ve said it before here at RealFootball365.com: Auburn is a running back factory. We’ve also named all of the backs of the past in previous articles for reinforcement. So, we’ll spare that in this one.

Rather, we’ll just get to it. Reggie Hunt was an outstanding all purpose back while playing for Daphne High School in Daphne, Alabama. And lucky for the Auburn Tigers, he decided to enroll with them.

Hunt is rather small, standing at only 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. But small doesn’t really tell the story on him. Further, if he wasn’t small, well, he’d probably be rated higher than just three stars by Rivals.

First, Reggie Hunt runs the 40 yard dash in 4.4 seconds. So he’s fast. Next—actually, let’s let him tell you.

"I have great vision and speed. I'm like a cut-back runner and can find the opening and hit the holes hard.”

Yes, it’s coming from a somewhat biased source. But it also so happens to be true. Further, Hunt seems to have an understanding of what he’s going to have to work on at the collegiate level as evidenced by this quote.

"I want to improve my blocking and be more physical. I just want to be a more aggressive runner."

Of course, during his senior season it was hard for him to improve at much of anything as he struggled with a high ankle sprain all season. As a junior, Hunt managed to accumulate 1,009 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.

By the way, don’t let his size fool you. Hunt benches 270 pounds and squats 405 pounds, so he’s a pretty strong guy. And all of this managed to compel Rivals to consider him the 19th best all purpose back in the nation, as well as the 19th best prospect coming out of the state of Alabama.

Will Hunt be another in a long line of outstanding running backs for the Tigers? Hard to say. But his diverse skills will likely do quite well in new offensive coordinator Tony Franklin’s system.

Looking forward to watching him grow as a player within the Tigers system.
