Here at RealFootball365.com we've spoken a lot about Auburn's ability to put out top flight running backs. Well, when it comes to the wide receiver position things haven't been nearly as successful.

Then again, running teams don't pass as much, and we all know that the Auburn Tigers have historically been a running team. But now there's this new guy in town that brings the promise of a new offense--the spread offense. His name is Tony Franklin.

And, by the way, there's also a new wide receiver about to come to town as well. His name is Darvin Adams.

Darvin Adams is a 6-foot-3, 181 pound wide receiver from Kennesaw, Georgia (Harrison High School) that runs the 40 yard dash in 4.55 seconds. As a junior this three star recruit didn't play receiver. Rather, he threw for 15 touchdowns on offense as a quarterback and also managed 52 tackles and six interceptions on defense.

But then came Adams senior high school season, a year in which he proved that he could play receiver as he went on to catch 66 balls for 867 yards and 11 touchdowns. By the way, Adams also accumulated 106 tackles and two interceptions on defense, which would seem to indicate that there's a chance we may someday see him play defensive back for the Tigers.

But for now he's a wide receiver. The 48th best one in the 2008 class according to Rivals and the 35th best prospect from the state of Georgia. Could Adams be the guy that the Tigers have been waiting for at this position?

Well, his three star status wouldn't seem to indicate it. Then again, Rodgeriqus Smith wasn't even a scholarship player, so recruiting is hardly an exact science. Besides, Adams is a guy that hasn't played enough wide receiver to truly know where he falls in there.

Perhaps the sky's the limit.
