Anyone that has ever played the game of football from high school on knows all about the 40 yard dash. In high school, when people run it in 4.8 seconds or less they’re usually considered fast. But when you get to the Division I-A football level, speed becomes paramount.

In other words, the players get a heckuva lot faster. That said, it’s pretty rare to hear about a guy that runs the 40 in 4.4 seconds. So you can imagine how rare it is still to hear about a guy that can knock off 40 yards in less than 4.4 seconds.

Enter Harry Adams, a 2008 Auburn Tigers wide receiver recruit.

Harry Adams is a 6 foot, 175 pound wide receiver from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (Dillard High School) that runs the 40 yard dash in 4.3 seconds. Thus, as was noted earlier, he’s very fast. In addition, he benches 215 pounds and possesses a vertical leap of 31 inches.

Along with this, Rivals considers him to be the 56th best wide receiver recruit in the 2008 class and the 52nd best recruit coming out of the state of Florida.

Here’s the best part, however. Adams played his first year of football as a junior. Thus, he possesses a great upside, especially in new offensive coordinator Tony Franklin’s system. What’s more, Adams has shown good hands in the limited time he has been playing the game.

But, once again, the big thing is his speed. When Adams touches the ball there’s always the chance he’ll take it to the house. After all, we’re talking about one of the fastest people in the entire country for his age group here.

Sounds good, doesn’t it Tigers fans?
