One of the many things Auburn Tigers head coach Tommy Tuberville spoke about in a recent interview with Auburn Undercover was recruiting.

“We’ve done it the right way," Tuberville said, referring to the Tigers' ability to land solid high school prospects. "The NCAA hasn’t been in here and isn’t coming in here. We have a core of assistants that has been with me for 15 years. I’m proud of that.”

Perhaps that doesn’t seem like such a big deal. Doing it the so-called right way is what coaches are supposed to do, right? Then again, not having the NCAA come in and check out what you’ve been doing is pretty impressive these days when you consider the players whom Tuberville and his core group of assistants have brought to Auburn over the years.

Ben Grubbs, Carnell Williams, Antonio Coleman, Quentin Groves, Lee Ziemba, Kodi Burns and countless other talents have joined the Tigers, and the NCAA, in the 10 seasons Tuberville has been at Auburn, hasn’t had reason to bring down the hammer.

On the flip side of things, the NCAA has been brought in to investigate numerous other programs, including Auburn's bitter rival, the Alabama Crimson Tide, during Tuberville’s tenure.

Now, Auburn is on a record-setting pace with its 2009 class, having already brought in 17 verbal commitments. Any peep from the NCAA?

Nope.

In the end, Tuberville is a college coach who carries himself and his program with unquestionable integrity, and he ought to be lauded for that.
