The Auburn Tigers are obviously hopeful that their starting offensive line will be strong in 2009. One thing working in the Tigers' favor is that their blockers have a significant amount of experience among them. Further, the new coaching staff's emphasis on a smash-mouth style of play could bode well. That said, the Tigers are not particularly deep on the line.

And if the past is any indicator of the future, the Tigers may need to find some more depth during the season.

Currently, the Tigers are looking toward the future; in fact, they are in the running for two offensive line prospects who are right now rated in the 2010 Rivals 100. Here's a little something about them, including their rank on the list.

James Stone (ranked 36th): Stone is a 6-foot-5, 297-pound tackle from Maplewood High School in Nashville, Tenn., who has a GPA of 3.7. In other words, he has the smarts and size for the position. Auburn's Phillip Lolley is currently recruiting him.

The word on Stone is that he's extremely fast out of his stance, shows excellent athleticism, and doesn't give anything less than his best effort on every play. Can't beat that.

Damien Robinson (45th): Robinson, a 6-7, 330-pound tackle from Olive Branch, Miss., is currently being recruited by Auburn's Trooper Taylor.

Robinson was named second-team all-state by the Clarion Ledger last season. He also made all-district as a sophomore. In the end, this guy is simply huge. And with Auburn's newfound emphasis on getting back to its hard-nosed style, that could be a very good thing.
