The Bears announced Tuesday the released of veteran safety Adam Archuleta.

The move comes in wake of the team picking former LSU safety Craig Stelz in the fourth round of the NFL draft. Archuleta had 63 tackles and two sacks in 2007 with Chicago.

Commentary: The Bears traded a sixth-round pick to Washington for Archuleta in 2007, which reunited him with head coach Lovie Smith -- the St. Louis Rams' defensive coordinator when Archuleta had 116 tackles as a rookie. He will likely get picked up, but any shot of guaranteed money may be gone.

Fantasy Impact: None
