The Bears signed DT Tommie Harris to a four-year, $40 million extension, keeping him in Chicago through 2012.

Harris, a three-time Pro Bowler and former Oklahoma Sooner, was the 14th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. He has 13 sacks over the last two years, ranking second in that category among defensive tackles.

Commentary: He received the largest contract in Bears history in terms of dollars per year, and he's worth every nickel of it. A career-high eight sacks last season on an injury-riddled Bears team shows he is making great strides with each passing season.

Fantasy Impact: The Bears' bitter feud with embattled linebackers Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher last season, not to mention plenty of injuries, hurt an otherwise talented defense. Harris' all-around ability will help force turnovers, bringing one of the league's best defensive units back into prominence in the process.
