Chicago added veteran running back Kevin Jones on Tuesday, signing the former first-round pick to a one-year deal worth $605,000.

The Bears go into training camp with rookie Matt Forte and Jones at the top of their depth chart. Jones had 581 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns last season in Detroit.

Commentary: The Bears ditched former first-round pick Cedric Benson and picked up a more injured, less expensive former top-rounder in Jones. It's a smart pickup in the sense that it won't cost the Bears much if he doesn't work out, though.

Fantasy Impact:
While Jones' recent problems with injuries don't really justify even a mid-round pick, fantasy owners may want to handcuff Forte with Jones by the end of the draft.
