The Chicago Bears have signed rookie quarterback Kyle Orton to a four year contract. Orton was a three year starter for the Purdue Boilermakers. He received a lot of Heisman hype last year, but fizzled as the season progressed. Some say that an abdominal injury was to blame, but there is no question that his dismal performance in the second half of his final college season hurt Kyle Orton's draft status.

The Chicago Bears drafted Orton in the 4th round, and expect him to backup second year quarterback Rex Grossman. The team opened training camp yesterday. They are scheduled to practice at noon today.
