The Chicago Bears are currently losing to the St. Louis Rams 14-7, but they have already suffered a much greater loss. Starting quarterback Rex Grossman has apparently broken his ankle. Grossman was spun around by Rams linebacker Trev Faulk. He got up and tried to limp to the sideline than signaled for the trainers to come to his aid. According to preliminary reports, the ankle is broken and he is expected to miss 3-4 months.

Rex Grossman was expected to lead the revamped Chicago Bears offense after missing most of last season with a torn ACL. The Bears have very little depth at quarterback. The second stringer is unproven journeyman Chad Hutchinson. The third stringer is rookie Kyle Orton.
