Having grown frustrated by injuries and uncertainties about his future with the team, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Peter Warrick is resigned to the reality he more than likely will be cut before the end of the week. He hopes if he is to be cut, the hammer comes down today.

Peter Warrick, the No 4 overall selection in the 2000 NFL Draft, has never fully lived up to expectations. He has been bothered by bad knees and shins and only played in four games last season. As he sat on the sidelines, he watched Chad Johnson have another All-Pro year and the emergence of T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Houshmandzadeh just received a big payday from the club, which may have in turn sent a message to Warrick that he was no longer wanted or needed. The Cincinnati Bengals currently have nine receivers in camp, and will likely carry just six of those onto the opening day roster.
Warrick still feels he can be a standout in the league, saying that if he's not in Cincinnati, he will be playing somewhere else and making an impact.

Talk around the league is that if he is granted his release, he could land in Atlanta as a prime target the Falcons lack for Michael Vick.
