Is Chad Johnson hurt or not? That's the question Bengals fans are asking themselves on the team's official fan forum after the team's mercurial wide receiver sat out the first part of the team's mandatory minicamp Thursday.

These situations are probably the reason the forum has a thread dedicated solely to "Everything About Chad."

Mark Curnette of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Johnson is not talking to the media, but his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said he sat out the first half of practices because of an injury "that easily could lead to an operation."

The Bengals conducted a physical on Johnson before practices started, and they cleared him to participate.

Bengals fans aren't buying what Johnson and Rosenhaus are saying. A poll conducted in the forum shows 74 percent (43 of 58) of voters feel his absence is "clearly an excuse to sit out."

One poster has had enough.

"Wants traded. Now he's injured. How many teams are really interested in an "injured" head case? He keeps tanking his own value. I agree with some on here that have posted to put him on IR. Let's see how he reacts to that."

Another poster was impressed with the fact the Bengals had Johnson undergo a physical at the onset of camp, seemingly prepared for any scenario Johnson may bring up.

"I think the Bengals knew that the bad ankle story could hit, and they seemed ready for it. Bad ankle, bad back. Chad might have been playing games today. Don't know that football was really on his mind. This was like an ugly business side. I think Marvin probably already had enough of just dealing with it today."
