Everybody that follows the Buffalo Bills knows that the one of the keys to success this year lies with the offensive line. At the end of the play… it doesn’t matter who the skill players are if your QB is lying on his back with the other team going for 6pts in the opposite direction. Have the Bills coaches and organization headed out in the right direction.... or is the path they've chosen fraught with peril?

I still see issues with blowing up the right side of last year’s line. Did they see a problem that we uninformed fans failed to grasp or is it more of the same with this bunch? Leaving Walker and Butler at their respective positions would help make this year's transition job so much easier. Hangartner’s acquisition would have strengthened the middle and thus both sides. Eric Wood coming in to replace Dockery was also palatable. The one remaining question mark at LT could have been so much easier to deal with. Chambers, Bell and a free agent fighting it out in camp for the LT spot just seems so much better than what we’re about to see unfold. The proposed line up assumes Walker capable of the mobility required at the LT spot. I haven’t seen it yet and there’s precious little time for it to develop.

Andy Levitre is another topic entirely. I see him a couple of years away from being useful. He provides depth and another good, play till the whistle kind of guy, but at this point… not an interior force. He’ll probably go down as a short-armed reach.

How will it turn out? The first part comes this Sunday, when they take the field as a group for the first time. The Hall Of Fame game should provide the first glimpse of what their plan will look like. I can't help but think....... it could have been so much easier.
