The first cuts are due on 9/1, shouldn’t be any surprises with such names as Brandon Rodd, Marvin Phillips, Chris Denman, Travis McCall, Derrick Jones, Lydell Sargeant, Ataefiok Etukeren, Matt Baker to choose from to get down to the required 75 players. Some of these players might already be gone and some are hiding in closets or under the bed to hide form the Turk. After all who would want to hear those famous words of “Son please follow me and bring your play book”?

It’s the following week on 9/5 that the cuts become nail biting and dreams are shattered. Watching the Bills in pre-season there are usually 3 or 4 unknowns that you can anticipate making the final roster but this year the only one that stands out is tight end Jonathan Stupar. Recently, the Bills have had players such as Jason Peters, Kirk Chambers, Fred Jackson, Jon Corto, Marcus Buggs come in leave an impression and make the roster.

Who will be the surprise cuts this year; would anyone be shocked to see DE Denny let go in favor of DE’s Ellis & Bryan, or one of the Derek’s of the tight end position in favor of Stupar, is this year McCargo wears out his welcome, Wendling is strictly a ST player shows no instincts to play FS or SS, Ko knows his days are numbered and how about Youboty?

Here’s my surprise (if you want to call them that) picks on who the Turk will be looking for…

1) Denny—steady player but Ellis has an upside and can rush the passer.
2) Youboty—always hurt, Lankster looks like he has a nose for the ball
3) McCargo—Bye Bye John, Bills pick up someone off the waiver wire at half the cost.
4) Simpson—Slow-Slower—Slowest---GONE!!!
5) Bowen—last summers surprise this summers M.I.A.
6) Jenkins—a tough call-it’s him or Johnson


Players on the bubble---Wilson, Wendling, Cary Harris, Bryan, Thomas, Scott, Parrish and Florence.

flda-dennis---Youboty is the teaser, he shows ability but can he play more then 10 games without getting hurt. It seems unlikely...
