State of the Bills...............

In sports especially the NFL, team’s fortunes seemed to go in cycles----good for a while bad for a while and throw in some mediocrity and you have a normal cycle.

For the Bills it has been anything but normal since the “Music City Miracle” as we all know the Bills have barely sniffed the playoffs since then. Since Wade Phillips was jettison following an 8-8 season back in 2000 the Bills have barely sniffed mediocrity!!!

Their cycle has been mediocre with one winning season 9-7 in 04, one horrid season 3-13 in 01. They haven’t the ability to hit a high point or a good cycle but have stagnated around the .500 level including the last 3 years at 7-9. Now, instead of going in a positive direction and improving the Bills are now heading into the bad cycle—a very bad cycle is looming.

I know we can all blame RW because as with any business it starts at the top but he has hired what he felt were capable front office personnel. The 3 headed triumvirate that currently run the Bills, Brandon, Guy and Modrake have failed miserably. This organization needs a leader, a go to person to make decisions no matter how unpopular they are. The results of this current charade speaks for itself---HORRID!!!

With the state of this team there are no quick fixes. Ralph is what he is as an owner; he has made some good decisions over the years but his poor decisions have continued to cripple the competitiveness of the Bills.

As for the personnel decisions on players whether it is in the draft or free agency the 3 headed team has struck out more often then not.

Think about this--- if a whole new regime is hired who would be the Bills young core players that the team could be built around? McGee, Lynch, Evans, Jackson, Poz, McKelvin, Wood, Levitre, Whitner, Maybin, Byrd, Williams a lot of question marks amongst those young players! The 2002 thru 2005 drafts can be considered busts with only Evans, Kelsay, McGee, Reed and Denny making a hint of major contributions. Hmmmm is it any wonder why the Bills are on the verge of a major meltdown.

Did the Doors write this song for us suffering Bills fans…………

Well, I've been down so Goddamn long
That it looks like up to me
Well, I've been down so very damn long
That it looks like up to me
Yeah, why don't one you people
C'mon and set me free
