Training camp begins for the Buffalo Bills in 3 weeks! First comes the Hall of Fame induction ceremony on August 7th where the incomparable Emmitt Smith will rightly join his peers.

August 8th the Cowboys will play the Bengals in the Hall of Fame game.

In less than 8 weeks, 'Opening Day Lite' will once again be held on a Thursday night. On September 12th the REAL Opening Day kicks off!Miami at Buffalo! It doesn't get better than that for Bills fans to begin a season.

This is the time of year when time seems to drag. I'm so excited for the upcoming season. Yet somehow, coinciding with my joy, is a sense of dread.

Could this be it?? Is this the last season until the owners and players settle their dispute and reach a consensus regarding the CBA?

Already that issue is tainting this season for me.

What if there is no NFL season in 2011? Ralph Wilson will be 92 in October. Will he still be around if the next season is 2012? Will the Bills still be in Buffalo???

I'm so excited about the upcoming season, but it isn't like it was in years past. I fear there could be a lockout in 2011 so that really dampens the anticipation I have.

Well, if this is it....I'll savor every kickoff, every great catch, every turnover, every victory.

I cannot fathom a year without the NFL. Isn't that why autumn was invented??!!!!.....
