This has been a great start to the season for our beloved Buffalo Bills. I want to be over the top excited but the memory of the 2008 season still dances in my head when the Bills started 5-1 only to end up 7-9. Oddly enough the Bills played the AFC West that year and went 4-0 but were 0-6 against their division rivals—we know that won’t happen this year because they already have beat the Pats and the Jets & Phins look very beatable.

The Bills beat the Eagles last week and now play NFC East opponents 3 out of the next 4 weeks. This week a road game against the Giants, a bye week, the Toronto game against the Skins, home against the Jets and then the start of a 3 game road swing with the Cowboys, Jets and Phins.—quite a gauntlet coming up. We will really get a handle on how much the Bills have improved after that stretch of games.

What worries me the most is the Bills are still giving up big yards on the ground and giving up over 400yards a game overall. The offense is running into problems with depth at the wide receiver position due to injuries. Would they be interested in signing a healthy T.O., he didn’t start trouble when he played here and still would have to be accounted for when he is on the field. I’d have no problem with him resigning with the team.

It is exciting that the Bills are becoming relevant again. They now get play on ESPN and most of the major magazines an it is positive news not the redundant crap about how lousy they are. It is not only good for the fans of the Bills but it is good for the NFL that perennial doormats such as the Bills and Lions are making a playoff push.

Can they continue to improve and contend—anything is possible in today’s NFL that has now geared the league for high scoring offensive shoot-outs. The Bills with Chan running the show are now a explosive offensive team but the team defense has to get better or my heart might give out watching every game down to the final seconds!!!
