The Buffalo Bills re-signed quarterback Shane Matthews. The veteran is expected to carry a clipboard as the team's third-string signal caller behind JP Losman and Kelly Holcomb.

The 6'3", 199 lbs. Matthews appeared in 3 games for the Bills last year in a backup role.

The former University of Florida star is entering his 13th NFL season. He has played for the Chicago Bears (1993-1996,1999-2001), the Carolina Panthers (1997-1998), the Washington Redskins (2002), and the Cincinnati Bengals (2003). Matthews has completed 492 of 839 passes for 4,756 yards, throwing 31 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. His best statistical year came in 1999 for the Bears.
