Buffalo Bills rookie Kevin Everett tore a left knee ligament during mini-camp this past weekend. The tight end could be out 4 to 6 months as a result of the injury.

Everett was hurt Friday when his foot appeared to stick in the turf when he planted to turn upfield after a catch. He needed help to get up and was eventually driven away in a cart.

The third round choice is scheduled to undergo surgery. The Bills will have to decide whether to keep him on their roster or put him on injured reserve after training camp.

The 6'4", 241 lbs. Everett is a product of the University of Miami. He had 23 catches for 310 yards in 2004.
