Now that OTAs are done, Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman is looking forward to a few weeks away from football. The second year quarterback, who is coming off a broken leg that sidelined for most of the 2004 season, is looking forward to taking over the starting quarterback position. Losman will replace the recently departed Drew Bledsoe who has since signed with the Dallas Cowboys.

J.P. plans to take leave Buffalo for a few weeks and head home to spend some time with family and friends. Surprisingly, it is the coaching staff that has requested this leave of absence. After spending the off-season learning the intricacies of the Buffalo Bills offense and bonding with his teammates, Losman has earned the praise of his coaches and teammates. Quarterbacks coach Sam Wyche is confident that he is ready to excel at the NFL level.

If J.P. Losman is even marginally successful the Buffalo Bills will become a difficult adversary for any NFL defense. They already boast one of the most explosive young backs in Willis McGahee, and they have two extremely dangerous weapons at wide receiver in Lee Evans and Eric Moulds.
