Landstown High (Virginia Beach, Va.) running back Sterlin Phifer gave his solid verbal to Boston College on Wednesday for the ’09 class.

Last season the 5-foot-11, 205-pounder ran for 1,300 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. Rivals rates Phifer as a three-star prospect.

Phifer chose Chestnut Hill over N.C. State, Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Mike Siravo is credited as the primary.

COMMENTARY: Jeff Jagodzinski’s class is building slowly but surely. Although only at four overall commitments, none of them are rated lower than three stars by Rivals.
