If Boston College, led by head football coach Jeff Jagodzinski, is going to continue contending for ACC championships, it'll obviously need to keep recruiting well. The Eagles are beginning to nab some verbal commitments for 2009, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

Let’s see whom defensive coordinator Frank Spaziani will have in the fold for the program's '09 class.

Kasim Edebali

A two-star weakside defensive end from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, N.H., the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Edebali runs the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds. Beyond that, little is known about him.

Andre Lawrence

Lawrence, from Hartford Public High in Connecticut, is a 6-1, 196-pound three-star outside linebacker with 4.48 speed. Right now Rivals considers him the 18th-best OLB in the nation, thanks in no small part to his 50 tackles and six sacks last season in high school. Lawrence also accrued 1,500 yards as a running back in 2007.

Jim Noel

A 6-2, 180-pound three-star prospect from Everett, Mass., Rivals ranks Noel as 2009's 39th-best cornerback and No. 3 CB from Massachusetts. Last season as a junior in high school, he managed 50 tackles and four interceptions.

Dillon Quinn

Quinn, a 6-6, 271-pound defensive tackle from Pawling, N.Y., is a four-star prospect. Quinn is the 11th-ranked D-tackle in America and the second-best prospect from New York.

Last season, Quinn accrued 38 total tackles, five sacks and one fumble recovery in nine games. The word on him is that he is excellent in terms of stuffing holes on the line and playing laterally, in part because of his sheer strength and size. He’s also adept at getting his pads low.
