Offensive guard Cooper Carlisle signed a 2 year deal with the Denver Broncos. Carlisle had agreed in principle to a 2 year contract worth $2 million with the Baltimore Ravens.

A backup for most of last season with the Broncos, he will have a chance to start in 2005 after Denver released starting RG Dan Neil in the offseason. The Ravens tried to bring in Carlisle to back-up the starters at RT or either G position.

The 6'5", 295 lbs. lineman was a fourth round pick of the Broncos in the 2000 draft out of the University of Florida. He started 4 games in 2004 after RG Dan Neil got injured. In his 5 year career, he has started 6 out of 63 games played.
