Over the summer there were plenty of noteworthy additions to teams. Some made headlines, some did not, but one thing is for certain:

Denver's acquisition of Javon Walker was not the move that dominated most of the chatter.

Sure, it was noted. But the move certainly didn't evoke more gusto than the Reggie Bush, Mario Williams, Matt Leinart, Daunte Culpepper, Antwaan Randle El, Drew Brees, Edgerrin James and Steve McNair entrances and address changes.

However, with the exception of Brees, none of these players have come through like Walker since they moved.

Thus far this season, Walker has caught 39 balls for 669 yards and five touchdowns. What's more, when the Denver Broncos could hardly muster any offense earlier this year, he seemed to be the only one capable of making plays. In short, Walker kept them in the hunt early on.

And he's only getting better as he gets more comfortable. Walker has broken the 100-yard receiving mark twice in the last three games.

Still, his performance Sunday took things to a new level. Against the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers, Walker caught six passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Further, he took a reverse and scampered 72 yards for another score.

In sum, Walker's performance this Sunday punctuated something that people in Denver already know. Javon Walker wasn't just a good offseason pickup. He was a great pickup; the kind of acquisition that people look back on years later and laud. Walker is fast becoming one of the best wide receivers in the entire NFL for one simple reason:

He's a game-changer.
