Scrambling to add experience to their depleted secondary, Cleveland signed 12-year veteran Terry Cousin on Thursday. Terms of the deal were not released.

Cousin played the last three seasons in Jacksonville, and he has spent time in Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Carolina and with the New York Giants. He had 45 tackles and an interception with the Jaguars last season.

Commentary: While there is never a good time for it, Daven Holly's season-ending injury May 20 came after the higher-end free-agent corners were already off the market. Cousin has been a nickel corner for most of his career, and he isn't going to replace what Holly brought to the Browns in terms of ability.

Fantasy Impact: The Browns' defense wasn't all that desirable going into 2008, and this won't help much.
