The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker Matt Stewart to a 3 year deal. The Atlanta Falcons made the 6'3", 232 pounder their fourth round pick in 2001.

The Vanderbilt University product finished 2004 with 71 tackles. The 25 year-old LB got 7 tackles in 2 playoff games.

Browns general manager Phil Savage had targeted Stewart as a free agent acquisition. He can play either inside or outside LB.

For his career, Stewart has played 63 career games - all with the Falcons - and made 232 tackles. He also registered 7 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 5 fumble recoveries.
