Running back Chester Taylor signed a 1 year, $3 million offer sheet with the Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore has until 3/23 to match the offer for the restricted free agent, according to Browns spokesman Bill Bonsiewicz. If the Ravens don't match the offer, the Browns would owe the Ravens a sixth-round draft pick.

Taylor was selected in the sixth round by the Ravens in 2003 when Browns general manager Phil Savage was Baltimore's player personnel director. As Jamal Lewis' main backup in 2004, Taylor ran 160 times for 714 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had 30 receptions for 184 yards.

For his career, the former Toledo Rocket has 256 carries for 1,112 yards and 4 TDs, while catching 64 passes for 445 yards and 2 TDs.

Taylor hopes to compete with Lee Suggs for the starting job in Cleveland.
