Tampa Bay announced Friday that it released former sixth-round QB Bruce Gradkowski and signed TE Jerramy Stevens.

Stevens had four touchdowns and started three games for the Buccaneers last season. Gradkowski appeared in four contests last season, but he did not start any. In 17 total career appearances, Gradkowski has thrown for 1,791 yards, nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Commentary: Stevens' less-than-stellar reputation oftentimes overshadows his enormous amount of physical ability. He came on toward the end of last season in Tampa Bay, but only got a one-year contract instead of a longer deal. Gradkowski has been a member of the Bucs' QB depth chart since being drafted in 2006, but with five other passers on the roster, he was the first (not the last) odd man out.

Fantasy Impact: With a year of Tampa's offense under his belt, it may not be surprising to see Stevens have a decent year in 2008. He had four touchdowns in his last four games played in 2007.
