Phoenix, Arizona - The Arizona Cardinals introduced quarterback Kurt Warner Tuesday. The free agent QB and the Cardinals previously agreed to terms on a 1 year contract.

A 2-time league MVP and 3-time Pro Bowl selection, the 33 year-old Warner spent the 2004 season with the New York Giants. In 10 games (9 starts) with the Giants, Warner passed for 2,054 yards with 6 TDs and 4 INTs. He led New York to a surprising 5-3 mark, but was replaced by Eli Manning, the top overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, after consecutive losses to the Chicago Bears and the Cardinals.

With Manning at the helm, New York dropped 8 in a row before a 28-24 triumph over Dallas in the club's season finale. However, Warner voiced his displeasure about backing up Manning after the season ended and made it known that he wanted nothing more than to be a starter in 2005. "In my opinion it's been that I haven't had the opportunity in the last couple of years to showcase my skills," Warner said. "But I believe with the channels that are here, the system we are going to run here, that it is going to be more of the style of football that I am used to playing and it is going to utilize my skills and that is why I feel it's a great fit, and why I feel like I can do a lot of things on the football field yet. And help this team get to the top."

Warner was a rags-to-riches story when he went from the Arena Football League and NFL Europe to star with the St. Louis Rams. He garnered the league's Most Valuable Player award in 1999 and 2001, while also being named MVP of Super Bowl XXXIV after guiding the Rams to a dramatic 23-16 win over the Tennessee Titans.

In 7 seasons with the Rams and the Giants, Warner has played in 63 career games (59 starts), passing for 16,501 yards with 108 TDs and 69 INTs.
