The Chargers signed free agent return specialist Mark Jones, formerly of Tampa Bay, on Saturday. They also released CB Stanley Franks, G Charles Manu, RB Germaine Race and DT Keith Shologan.

Jones, a seventh-round draft choice by the Buccaneers in 2004, has returned 117 punts for 1,017 (8.7 yards per return) in four NFL seasons.

Commentary: Tampa Bay had a kick return for a touchdown for the first time in its history in 2007. It wasn't Jones who returned it, however. Jones' experience comes as a punt returner.

Fantasy Impact:
Jones has never returned a kick of any kind for a touchdown as a pro.
