Former San Diego Chargers safety Terrence Kiel was killed after being thrown from a car that he was driving on Saturday.

Commentary: Kiel drove home from a party at about 10:15 p.m. PT Friday night when his car hit a wall in San Diego's Scripps Ranch neighborhood. When paramedics reached him he was still alive, but Kiel died an hour later. He appeared to be driving in the wrong direction when he crashed. At this point it is unclear if Kiel was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
