The Chargers have signed Jamal Williams to a 5 year extension. The Pro Bowl defensive tackle is now set to play with the team through the 2010 season.

Williams anchored the Chargers defensive line which held opposing offenses to 81.7 yards rushing, the third-best in the NFL against the run during the 2004 regular season.

The 6'3", 348 pound Williams had 32 tackles, 4 sacks, 4 pass deflections in 15 games last year. He has played 7 years with San Diego since leaving Oklahoma State University. Williams has registered 174 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 1 interception, 9 pass deflections, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery in 86 career games.
