In an attempt to restore full circulation to a numbing lower left leg, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green recently underwent surgery to have a stent placed into an artery in the leg.

The examining Doctors weren't able to exactly diagnose what caused the lack of feeling in the foot/leg area, which led to Green having to sit out the rest of Aug. 27 preseason game against Seattle.
Although doctors are not attributing the condition to football related contact at this point, the same leg has given Green problems in the past. In the 1999 preseason, Green had to undergo four operations to repair his left knee.

At this point, it's been confirmed that Green will sit out the final preseason game against the Rams Tonight. However, the Kansas City Chiefs expect to have Green back in time to play in the season opener against the New York Jets on September 11.
