The Kansas City Chiefs refused to offer quarterback Jason White a contract after this weekend's rookie mini-camp. The former Heisman Trophy winner was looking for a spot as an undrafted free agent.

White lost out to seventh round pick James Kilian of Tulsa. To boot, the Chiefs have 3 veteran quarterbacks on the roster.

After winning the 2003 Heisman and taking the Oklahoma Sooners to consecutive national championship games in 2003 and '04, some people felt White was ready for the next level. However, many scouts felt his arm was not strong enough and he's had major reconstructive surgery on both knees.

Head coach Dick Vermeil recommended White should hone his skills in the Arena League.
