Kansas City signed its fifth-round pick, Louisville product Kolby Smith, to a three-year contract. The terms of the deal are undisclosed at this time.

Commentary: Smith is a big, fast running back who had a fine season for the Cardinals. He had a 40 time of 4.51 at the combine, which ranked 10th among RBs. He started the year as the backup to Raiders draftee Michael Bush but got his chance to start after Bush broke his leg against Kentucky the first game of the season

Fantasy Football Impact: Smith could be a nice late-round sleeper pick in larger leagues. He might just be in the right place at the right time in Kansas City; with Larry Johnson threatening to hold out, Smith would only have to beat out the oft-injured Michael Bennett for the starting spot.
