Clemson recently extended an offer to Nick Kasa, a defensive end for Legacy High School in Broomfield, Colo., for the 2009 recruiting season.

Last season the junior racked up 63 tackles and 8.5 sacks. He is Legacy's record holder for career sacks with 22. According to Rivals, the 6-foot-7, 232-pound is a strongside DE who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.

Schools reportedly interested in him include: Colorado, Colorado State, Notre Dame, Cal, USC, Oregon, Iowa State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Florida, Florida State and Miami.

No word yet on Kasa's interest in Clemson at this time.

COMMENTARY: With the Tigers in a dead heat with LSU over Texas safety Craig Loston, and now showing interest in Kasa, it appears Clemson's recruiting is moving westward. This is a great sign, as Clemson must venture into these territories to keep up the great recruiting pace it has.
