Dorman High (Spartanburg, S.C.) offensive tackle Brandon Thomas gave his solid verbal to Clemson on Wednesday for the 2009 class. The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder, a three-star prospect, is listed by Rivals as the second-best offensive lineman in South Carolina.

Thomas chose coach Tommy Bowden’s program over North Carolina, N.C. State, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Tight ends coach Billy Napier is credited as the primary.

COMMENTARY: Not only did Clemson land South Carolina's second-ranked O-lineman in Thomas, but it also has a commitment from South Carolina’s top-ranked blocker, tackle J.K. Jay.
