When senior quarterback Cullen Harper threw his final pass in a Clemson Tigers uniform, a new age started. The question was: Who would lead it? The answer could be last season’s No. 2 quarterback, Willy Korn.

When the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Korn came out of high school in 2007, he was a four-star prospect considered one of the top 100 recruits in the nation (No. 98 in Rivals' opinion). The reasons were simple. First, there was the passing ability he showed while playing for Byrnes High School in Duncan, S.C., where he threw for 2,997 yards and 31 touchdowns as a sophomore, 4,164 yards and 53 touchdowns as a junior and 3,485 yards and 39 touchdowns as a senior.

Flat-out stellar.

But on top of it all, Korn can also move. He reportedly ran a 4.65-second 40-yard dash while in high school and rushed for over 1,100 yards and 23 touchdowns during his junior and senior seasons combined.

The bottom line is that Korn has only attempted 49 passes over the course of the past two seasons with Clemson. Still, he’s looked pretty good in limited time.

Of course, there’s going to be competition for the job vacated by Harper. Tajh Boyd, a four-star pro-style quarterback from Hampton, Va., is sure to make some waves during the competition. Kyle Parker is another player who deserves some notice.

But right now, Korn would seem to have a hand up on the competition. Of course, it’s early. It will be interesting to see how things play out.
