Most of us have difficulty multitasking, so imagine being Clemson quarterback Kyle Parker, who is a star outfielder on the school's baseball team and is also working hard to gain the starting quarterback spot on the football team at the same time. Hard to handle, right?

Seemingly not.

Parker was named the ACC Baseball Player of the Week last week, going 8-for-18 (.444) with two doubles, two home runs, 11 RBIs, four runs and three walks in five combined games against South Carolina and Miami. To put things in perspective, Parker led the White squad to a 30-13 victory in the Tigers' spring football game Saturday. Most would have then celebrated. Not Parker. Rather, he traveled to a baseball doubleheader against Miami, against which he finished 3-for-7 with two home runs and five RBIs.

In the spring football game, Parker connected on 13-of-21 passes for 171 yards and one touchdown. He also added a rushing touchdown and threw no interceptions.

Now that's a day. No, it's a day and a half.

Parker is in a competition at quarterback with Willy Korn and Michael Wade. Most believe that Korn is his major competition, though Wade has looked good enough in spots to make both nervous. That said, Parker is the best athlete of the group. We're talking about a guy who reportedly ran the 40 in 4.6 seconds back in high school, and regularly tucked the ball and gained yards in high school. Parker also has a strong arm and can make all the throws required of someone at the position.

But perhaps what is most impressive is the fact that Parker is doing quite well in this quarterback competition with limited time. His focus is truly split between baseball and football right now (not to mention school). When he finally does get to concentrate exclusively on football, the guess is that he'll be tough to beat.

Kyle Parker has emerged as the favorite in this quarterback competition.
