The Clemson Tigers have enjoyed good luck lately when it comes to running backs. James Davis was a mainstay for the team until leaving for the NFL this past season. Lucky for them, the ultra-talented and versatile C.J. Spiller decided to stick around for the 2009 season. He'll be gone after, of course.

Don't fret, though, because the Tigers have been shopping around for some of the best 2010 running back prospects in the nation. Here's a little something on some of the high-profile players who have shown significant interest in Clemson.

Jawan Jamison: This 5-foot-8, 185-pounder from Bolles High School in Jacksonville is 11th on Rivals' 2010 all-purpose back list. Jamison rushed for 1,088 yards and 17 touchdowns last season and managed 400 more receiving yards.

His 4.62 speed doesn't tell the whole story on him. His jitterbug moves and quickness are what sets him apart.

Marcus Shaw: The 5-9, 187-pounder from DeSoto High in Arcadia, Fla., has 4.4 speed. That certainly offers part of the reason why he's eighth on Rivals 2010' all-purpose backs list. But the fact that he accumulated 2,380 yards and 35 touchdowns rushing last season does a good job of telling the rest of the story on him.

Marcus Lattimore: From Byrnes High School in Duncan S.C., the 5-11, 210-pound Lattimore is a five-star prospect. He's fast (4.46 speed) and strong (440-pound squat). What's more, he was productive to the tune of 2,303 yards rushing and 30 touchdowns last season.

Unfortunately, his interest in Clemson is not high at this time. But Lattimore is the real deal.

Mack Brown: This Martin Luther King High star from Lithonia, Ga., has blazing 4.38 speed. Brown, at 5-11, 185, squats 455 pounds and reports a 36-inch vertical. Oh, and he rushed for over 1,700 yards last year. The Tigers are ready to pounce on Brown.

Brandon Gainer: The Miami native had 1,644 yards and 17 touchdowns rushing last season. His 4.49 speed only adds to the allure of a player who can run between the tackles and on the outside.
