On Wednesday, the Clemson Tigers released their 2006 football schedule. Clemson got a bit of a break this year in that they will not have to face off against the Miami Hurricanes. However, they will still have three extremely tough ACC dates against FSU, Virginia Tech, and Boston College.

The Tigers will open up their season on September 2nd against a very weak FAU squad that is entering only their second year in division 1-A. Then they will hit the road for two straight weeks against two extremely tough opponents.

The Tigers will first head to Chestnut Hill to face off against Boston College on September 9th and will then travel to Tallahassee to visit the FSU Seminoles on September 16th. They'll return home on September 23rd to host North Carolina, but their final game in September is still up in the air. The final September game will definitely fall on the 30th, but their opponent and location has not been determined. It will either be a home game against Louisiana Tech or a road game against Temple.

In October the Tigers will travel to Wake Forrest (Oct. 7th), then face either Louisiana Tech or Temple (Oct. 14th). They'll return home on October 21st to host Georgia Tech and close out the month with a very tough Thursday night road test against Virginia Tech on October 26th. This primetime matchup will give Clemson Tigers a chance to showcase their team to the nation against a top caliber opponent.

Their only three games on the slate for November and all of them will be played at home. Maryland comes calling on November 4th and then NC State will pay a visit on November 11th. The Tigers will then close out the season against bitter in-state rival South Carolina on November 25th.
