No. 1 Ohio State trailed the Wisconsin Badgers 17-10 in the third quarter when running back Chris Wells broke loose for a 31-yard touchdown run to tie the game. The Buckeyes proceeded to score three more times in the fourth quarter--two of those scores on long TD runs by Wells--to overcome their visitors, 38-17.

Wells ended up with 169 yards rushing on 21 carries. Wisconsin was playing without starting running back P.J. Hill, who is still recovering from an injury. Buckeye QB Todd Boeckman turned in another solid, blue collar performance with 2 TDs and 166 yards on 17 of 28 passing. His counterpart, Tyler Donovan, led the Badger attack with an equally solid passing line: 17 of 29, 238 yards, 2 TDs.

Commentary: Ohio State's win over #26 Wisconsin will strengthen their hold on the No. 1 ranking in every poll, including the all-important BCS ranking. The Buckeyes host the Big Ten's third place team, Illinois (7-3 overall) next week in Columbus, and will have to guard against looking ahead to their annual showdown with arch nemesis Michigan (currently second place in the conference).
