The 3rd ranked LSU Tigers overcame a mistake and turnover riddled performance to defeat the Alabama Crimson Tide 41-34 on Saturday. The win kept their national championship hopes alive.

Commentary: "When our backs are against the wall, we play our best," said LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. "When we need to make plays, we make them."

Never have truer words been spoken. Despite trailing Alabama by a score of 34-24 near the end of the third quarter, having committed 28 penalties that amounted to 260 yards for the other team, and Matt Flynn having thrown three first half interceptions, the LSU Tigers still managed to come back and defeat the Tide. Safety Chad Jones made the game changing play when toward the end of the game he flew through the middle like a panther and forced a fumble on Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson. After LSU's Curtis Taylor fell on the ball at the four, it was only a matter of time before Jacob Hester ran it in for the game winning touchdown.
